GUATEMALAN WORRY DOLLS
There is a story that when the Mayan Indians of Guatemala have worries, they tell them to the worry dolls and then put these under their pillows at night. In the morning the worry dolls will have taken their worries away.
MINI DOLLS IN SMALL BOX AND BAG: The body of these dolls are made with a natural, thoroughly dried string called sibaque (used also to tie tamales), the face is made of orange paper mache, the clothing is made with quality thread and the hair is beach or river sand.
LARGE DOLLS IN LARGE BOX AND BAGSThese dolls are made of Kraft wrapping paper, with pantyhose material and foam for their face. Quality material is used for the clothing and head while quality thread is used to wrap the doll's skirts and pants and to stitch the eyes and mouth of the face. These dolls are made by artisans in and around the area of Sacatepequez.
